Yoga
YIN YOGA targets your deep connective tissues (fascia, ligaments, joints, bones). It’s slow and more meditative, giving you space to turn inward and tune into both your mind and the physical sensations of your body. Postures are held for a longer period of time (3-5 minutes) to stretch and lengthen those rarely used tissues while also teaching you how to breathe through discomfort and sit with your thoughts. Therefore, it is said that yin yoga is simple but simple does not mean easy
No need to have previous yoga experience or special preparation. If you have, or have had, any health condition and you are not sure whether practicing yoga is suitable for you, please consult with your doctor first.
PREPARATION FOR THE CLASS:
• Dress warmly (as body can cool down in yin yoga) but comfortably.
• If you have your personal yoga mat and blocks, take them with you. I have some extra mats to share (let me know if you need one).
• Have a small blanket or plaid to support your body during the poses or for keeping you warm.
Yin yoga class is led by Anu-Kadi Soa. Anu-Kadi´s yoga journey started 15 years ago. It took 7 more years before she found yin yoga. After practicing it for 4 years, she took yin yoga teacher´s training and started leading the classes at Black Dog yoga studio in Tallinn. „For me yin yoga gives an opportunity to leave everyday life behind and to focus on yourself. During this meditative and quiet practice, you might find that so much can be said in silence.“
